ABCECG SET PLANS TO GROW GHANA CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY
ABCECG making plans to grow Ghana construction industry by reducing time of contract payment.
The Association of Building and Civil Engineering Contractors of Ghana (ABCECG) is set to grow the construction industry in the nation. The Agency is planning to transform the sector by reducing the amount of time for any payment.
President of ABCECG, Prosper Yao Ledi said “The authority which would regulate and ensure the proper transformation of the sector. He also said it will form part of a holistic approach to transform the construction industry.”
The Agency plans to ensure that the industry will ensure high standard of performance. They will also prescribe and enforce professional requirements of the category of contractors. Meanwhile, ABCECG plans to propel indigenous contractors to be able to rub shoulders with contractors across the globe.
According to Yao Ledi, foreign contractor usually subcontract the project to indigenous contractors which clearly show that Ghanaian contractor is capable if given the opportunity.
The Agency is currently receiving funding support from the Business Sector Advocacy Challenge (BUSAC). Meanwhile, this funds will help to make the establishment of the authority a reality.
