CHIRUMHANZU DISTRICT GETS US$500K FOR ROAD REHAB IN ZIMBABWE

Road Rehabilitation set to kick-off after funds was issue to the district in Zimbabwe.

Chirumhanzu Rural District Council is set to kick-off its road rehabilitation. The road has been a major problem for resident in the district. The rehabilitation will also help the area in terms of having a good road. Meanwhile the project will cover Mvuma urban roads and some parts of the business centre.

According to reports, the project has kick-off with Evergreen Construction handling it. Meanwhile upon completion, the 3.7km urban highway will then work on other road and drainages in the area.

Chirumhanzu RDC CEO Mr Lovemore Chatikobo said “We contracted a company called Evergreen and the works are already in motion. He also said the project is being slow due to disbursement of funds from the Zimbabwe National Roads Administration (Zinara)”.

The road will also link Mushaytabvudzi Township and will be complete before the onset of the rainy season. Meanwhile, the rehabilitation will focus on roads that are commonly use by the public.

Furthermore as part of the rehabilitation plans, the council will also clean the drainage to ensure smooth flow of water and avoid floods in the city during the rainy season.

So as the fund is issue, will we still have a case where the job will not be complete?
