CONSTRUCTION OF MAJIGA-ZAMBIA TARMAC ROAD KICK-OFF IN MALAWI

Majiga-Zambia tarmac road construction set to kick-off in December which will help ease movement of people and goods.

Resident of Ndirande township in Blantyre, Malawi are happy about the propose construction of the road. They are glad with the project as it will help them ease movement of good, people around the area. Meanwhile, the news was announce by the local government Chairman while inspecting the road.

The construction of the road will begin in December and has a completion time in three months. Meanwhile, the construction will be handle by Molta Engil firm with the project set to create jobs for hundred of young men and women.

Local Government Minister Konwandi Nankhumwa said “There is a prevailing theory that roads make crucial contribution to economic development. He also said it brings growth and other social benefits which will make a nation grow.”

The Minister said that President Arthur Peter Mutharika ask him to make the announcement public. According to him, the President is aware of the plight of the people of Ndirande which include the poor state of the road. He also said that the President is looking forward to see easy movement of people and goods.

As Africans, we all know the important of road construction. We can not truly underestimate the important of it because it helps provide access to  employment, social health and education. It is an important component that makes fighting against poverty easy.

Deputy Mayor of City of Blantyre, Joseph Makwinja Praise the President for this visionary stewardship and also said it is a welcome development as there are good tarmac road everywhere in the township.

Meanwhile during the construction launch, Residents complain to the Minister about having to buy borehole water which is suppose to be free in the area. After hearing their complain, the Minister  also pledge MK400,000 for each borehole every month. This will help meet the maintenance and other matters that will arise in the area.
