CONSTRUCTION OF US$10m COMPLEX IN NAIROBI
US$10m complex to be constructed in Nairobi.
The construction of a four-storey complex which is to serve as a teens and children centre at All Saints Cathedral have been set to take place in Nairobi, Kenya. The complex will cost US$10m and would contain a modern amphitheater with a capacity to hold 1,000 persons as well as 36 classrooms for use by younger children.
This report was confirmed by the Cathedral Provost Sammy Wainaina, who said that the project was initiated to solve the growing concern of specialized care for the ever increasing number of young adults and children.
Although the Project is awaiting the award of contract, for which tenders closed three(3) weeks ago, lands have already been set aside for development of a children’s chapel, an administration block and a kitchen with the lower-ground floor reserved for parking. This is according to Masterbill Integrated Projects who prepared the layout plan.
The project which will employ the century-old cathedral’s Gothic architecture will be executed in three (3) phases and the funds for the project will be contributed by the members of the church and a pledge from the Anglican Church global head, Archbishop of Canterbury Most Rev Justin Welby.
