DANGOTE: NIGERIA’S MOST VALUABLE BRAND 2018

Dangote ranks most valuable brand in Nigeria for 2018.

Brand Nigeria after a survey have named Dangote, Nigeria’s multinational industrial company the most valuable brand in Nigeria for 2018. This is coming barely three months after Dangote was also declared the most admired brand of African origin by consumers.

Dangote top 49 other brands to become the most valuable brand in Nigeria. This is the first time since 2013 a Nigerian brand is achieving this feat. According to the ranking 46% of the top brands that is 23 out of the 50 brands are Nigerian brands.

Some Highlights of the brands rating are Promasidor Nigeria Ltd emerging as highest gainer jumping 15 points from last year. Following Promasidor are the trio BUA, Nine Mobile and Olam which all moved 12 points from last year position. Conoil, Channels TV, Union Bank, Access Bank, Chi, Toyota, and GTBank maintained their positions.

Fidelity Bank for the first time is among the top 50 brands for this year while Stallion Group is making a return after previously exiting the position.

The Model for ranking is the Brand Strength Model (BSM index). It measures the brand’s ability to deliver on its promise to the consumers from the consumer’s point of view. The model uses basic qualitative elements which have seven variables.

The 50 brands in Nigeria are the brands that have succeeded in delivering their promises to the consumers. They are fast growing in value and are the drivers of the economy. They have been able to analyse needs, see opportunities by creating solutions to them and communicating same to the consumers.

Dangote Group, especially its cement arm have its operations in 14 African countries including Nigeria, Benin, Ghana, Senegal, South Africa and Zambia, among others.
