E.U. POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO CAMEROON CRISIS

E.U. worries over Cameroon crisis

The European Union (E.U.) has concerned themselves with the ongoing crisis in Cameroon. E.U asked the government to stop the lose of lives in area both civilians and security personnel alike.

E.U. suggested that Cameroon government should begin sincere and positive discussion as a means of finding a solution to the crisis.

They pleaded with all sides to stop all acts that will raise tension and lead to violence between Cameroonians.

E.U. reassured them that the best solution is through positive dialogue following democratic and constitutional laws. Adding that the country can only grow when there is peace and unity among Cameroonians.

Also, the use of security forces should be discreet so as to reduce killing of civilians.

The Anglophone crisis confined to Cameroon’s northwest and southwest regions started as a protest from the French majority part of the country.

The Ambazonia Republic failed to get independence in October 2017 and took to arms since then a number of security agents has been lost.

However, there has not been any concrete move in that regard. The United Nations, the United States, United Kingdom and other partners have all advocated the need for dialogue.

President Paul Biya accepted that dialogue is the solution for unity, but has not made any move in that regards

Election for a new president will come up later this year. President Paul Biya will contend for another term after 30 years in power.
