DAR ES SALAAM RESIDENT RAISE FUND FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF DEMO TOILET
A total of Sh800 million was raise for the construction of Demo toilets for children in Tanzania.
During an event by the Union of Women MPs, a total fund of Sh800 million was raise. The fund will be use for the construction of demonstration toilets for children. The event which took place in Mlimani City grounds had people from different sectors in the country.
Chairperson of the preparatory committee of the fund-raising drive, Prof Anna Tibaijuka thank Dar es Salaam residents for turning up for the drive that will help children, including those with special needs.
During the event, people pledge to provide building materials for the project. Meanwhile Chalinze MP Ridhiwani Kikwete pledge to construct similar toilets in Bagamoyo and Chalinze constituencies in the Coast Region.
Chairperson of the Union of Women MPs, Ms Magreth Sitta call upon resident to support the project. She also said it will help reach the target of construction the toilets in 264 constituencies in both Tanzania Mainland and Zanzibar.
During the fundraising, different items were auction which include house ornaments and portraits of the founders of the nation. The event also had Sh100,000 as entrance fee with top distinguish leaders in the nation.
