N2.52bn MOU SIGN FOR CONSTRUCTION OF STREET LIGHT IN LAGOS

Lagos state sign MOU with UK firm for the construction of 10,000 street light in the state.

The construction of the street light contract has been sign by the lagos state government and a uk based firm. The project will see the construction of 10,000 LED street lights covering 300 kilometres across the State. The deal will also include over 500 job opportunities apart from the LED construction.

The development is a major milestone and a positive pattern shift in the provision of street lighting for the State. The project will also see the construction of a Hybrid Energy Power Assembly Plant. The plant will offer groundbreaking testing, training and education programs on renewable technologies in the state.

Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Mr Olawale Oluwo representing the governor said “With this agreement we are signing today, we are setting a new chart for the future of what street lighting, installation, management and control will be like in Lagos. He also said that it will increase the street light in the state with the addition of 10,ooo to the existing 33,000.”

Chief Executive Office of LED UK Limited, Alan Parker said the company will create job opportunities for the residents. He also highlight that they will greatly honored to partner with the State Government to deliver the project.
