NIGERIA ENGINEERS REDUCING DUE TO ABSENCE OF ENGINEERING TRAINING
Nigeria President say Engineers in the country cannot compete globally due to poor engineering training infrastructure in institutions.
Nigeria engineers has reduce drastically due to poor engineering training infrastructure in institutions. It has also witness the absence of an updated engineering curriculum as well as critical training.
The statement was made by the Minister of Water Resources, Mr. Suleiman Adamu which was representing President Buhari during the 27th Engineering Assembly of COREN.
According to the minister, Nigeria was in dire need of new engineering technologies to improve the country’s infrastructure development. He also said the absence of infrastructure is a major problem.”
The President also said that no society would develop without engineering and that it is his desire to see the development of engineering training and practice in Nigeria.
President of COREN, Mr. Kashim Ali said ”Nigerians engineering practitioners need to prove that they are competent. He also they must execute projects that meet international standards due to the Executive Order Number 5.”
This development has made engineers in the country finding it difficult to compete globally.
