Yesterday, 35 delegates including representatives from Mauritius, Côte d’ivoire and France attended the inauguration ceremony for the President of Madagascar
President Andry Raojolina, who is among Africa’s young leaders assumes office today 19 January 2019. In fact, at age 44, He is currently the 6th President of Madagascar. In a tweet, He said, “Very honored to have received the key to #Madagascar. My fellow citizens, I’ll be worthy of your trust! Thanks to my predecessors Harley Rajaonarimampianina and Rivo Rafiq for this Republican power change.”

ABOUT MR. AHMAD RAOJOLINA
Mr. Andry Raojolina comes from a fairly wealthy family. In fact, His father is a retired Colonel who fought alongside the French army in the Algerian war. As a military man, he intended for his son to study for a university degree. However, Mr. Andry decided to venture into business. Despite being only 19, He started hosting concerts on the island. Afterwards, He ventured into advertisement. Moving on, his adventures in politics started at age 33 years in 2007, when He contested and won as Mayor of Antananarivo.
In early August 2018, Mr. Andry signified interest for the 2018 presidential election. He mustered a good campaign for the presidential elections on 7 November. However, no candidate received a majority of the vote. Thereafter, a second round involving the top two candidates, Andry Rajoelina and Marc Ravalomanana ensured on 19 December. Finally, on 27 December Mr. Rajoelina was announced as the winner with 56% of the vote.
