PLANS UNDERWAY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW HOTEL IN ZIMBABWE

Zimbabwe set to have new hotel in the central business district.

Construction of a new hotel is set to kick-off in zimbabwe capital harare. The new hotel which will be build in Harare’s central business district (CBD). Meanwhile the piece of land for the project will be on the corner of Jason Moyo and Third Street.

Harare City Council’s Environmental Management Committee held a meeting to discuss the application they got to use the property. The proposal also include construction of a hotel, conference facility, Flexi offices and restaurant.

Meanwhile after the meeting, the council director of works said the proposed project has been given a permit. The project will also mark the return of significant construction activity within the Harare’s CBD.

The new dispensation has seen tourists flooding the country so it is important that an accomodation facilities is establish. It will also help increase the Zimbabwe’s tourism industry.

The industry will hit the three million mark by 2020 due to the arrival of traditional markets. Meanwhile, countries like Germany, United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Netherlands are calling for more accomodation.

ZTA chief executive Dr Karikoga Kaseke said “the number of rooms that we have will be nothing given the demand we are going to experience in the next two to three years. He also said we need to increase the number of rooms.”
