RECONSTRUCTION OF UHTTI CENTRE KICK-OFF IN UGANDA

Reconstruction of UHTTI set to kick-off after groundbreaking ceremony was held in Uganda.

The reconstruction of the Uganda Hotel Tourism and Training Institute (UHTTI) has kick-off in uganda. According to report, the reconstruction is aim at skilling the tourism sector labor force to meet world class standards. Meanwhile the structure will now comprise 50 bedrooms with a construction cost worth Sh24.5 billion.

ROKO Construction Ltd is in charge of the reconstruction while World Bank is funding the project. The reconstruction of the project took centre stage after a ground breaking ceremony.

Minister for Tourism Prof Ephraim Kamuntu said, ”UHTTI must aim to be the leading tourism training institute. He also said that it must have a quality curriculum to train competitive human resource.”

The reconstruction of the centre is also aim to train local individuals so as to stop depending on foreign expert to manage their facilities.

Permanent Secretary in the Tourism Ministry Doreen Katusiime said the skill gian will be of international standard. She also said that it will bridge the skills gap that had beleaguered our sector for long.”

The UHTTI is also refer to as the Crested Crane Hotel.
