SDA SET TO BUILD US$4M COMMUNITY CENTRE IN ZIMBABWE

SDA set to build community centre as they church value education and the growth of individuals in the area.

The constant need for development is vital for any developing country. This is why SDA is constructing a US$4m community centre in Zimbabwe which will help the area. The centre will also have an incubation hub for community impact projects.

The Seventh-day Adventist Church (SDA) is funding the project. Meanwhile, the centre will entail activities like the training of livelihood and lifestyle matters including community health issues.

President of Adventist Laymen and Services Industries (North Zimbabwe Conference) Pastor Albert Mangwende said “We aim to complete Sandton Park offices project early this coming month of October. He also said we will be re-engaging resources for the construction of the community centre.”

The project will be a one of the major infrastructure development in the Mt Hampden area. Meanwhile Mt Hampden was chosen because it is out of the city as it is too noisy.

The community centre is not the only project by the SDA as it is also has school projects which include Junction Boarding School (Mhondoro), Sunnyside Secondary School (West of Harare). It also has Kanyemba schools (Muzarabani) Gota Secondary School (Guruve) and Mauya Primary School in Hurungwe under construction.

According to Albert Mangwende, the church value education and will try to develop the community in whatever way they can.

Should churches in Africa do the same for its members or it is not part of God’s plan for the growth of the church??
