300KM PUMPING LINE REPAIR CONTINUES IN NAMIBIA

NawWater start repair of 300km pumping line at the Calueque Dam in Namibia.

The pumping line which convey water from the Calueque Dam into the canal which feeds northern Namibia started linking in December 2017. The repair is been carried out by NamWater

The 300km pumping line which extend across Angola’s border into Namibia is responsible for supplying towns as far away as Oshakati. According to a statement by NamWater, which state that a lot water was wasted through the leakages which then interrupt the flow of the entire pumping scheme, putting the security of water supply at risk.

Furthermore, NamWater will resume the normal abstraction of utilizing two pumps from the Calueque Dam to north-central Namibia once the repair work on the first line is complete.

The Calueque Dam is one of the last landmarks along the Kunene River between Angola and Namibia.
