AFDB TO INVEST IN NIGERIA WATER AND SANITATION SECTOR
AFDB to invest fund into Nigeria water and sanitation projects.
The Africa development Bank (AFDB) is seeking to invest U.S.$250 Million in Nigeria Capital city. According to reports from Daily Trust, the fund will be used for Federal Capital Territory Water and Sanitation Integrated project.
Ebrima Faal, a Senior Director of African Development Bank led a six-man delegation to the office of the FCT Minister of State.
This project is aimed at improving water supply and sanitation in the satellite towns. While also creating job and reducing poverty in the nation capital with the Special Agro-industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ) as over 20,000 hectares of land have been made available.
Faal also said the bank would invest in the development of the Abuja Technology Village. That a number of studies are ongoing in various components. Such components includes ICT, fashion and infrastructural development in the nation.
Faal also noted that they will work with co-financiers to achieve the objectives. Meanwhile, FCT Minister of State, Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu assured the delegates of its full support for all the projects.
