AFRICA AND LATIN AMERICA GETS $US805M FACILITY SUPPORT FROM IsDB

 Six Africa countries and a Latin america country signed an agreement with the IsDB to support their facility with  a total of US $805 million.

Seven countries in Africa and Latin America got US $805 million after The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) has signed an agreement with them.

The US $805 million was for several infrastructural projects in energy, housing, agriculture and water supply to help boost these countries economy. The countries that benefited from the money are Senegal: $138 million for Promoville housing project, Mali: $166 million for a power plant project in Sirakoro, Burkina Faso:  $104 million power plant project,  Côte d’Ivoire: $265 million for the Cocody Bay and Vocational Training Projects, Guinea: $16 million rural water supply project, Tunisia: $80 million agricultural project and the only Latin america country; Suriname, $35 million affordable housing project.

On the sidelines of the World Bank Group Annual meeting in Washington DC yesterday. A statement from the bank said  during the special lunch organised by IsDB in honour of the Board of Governors, the  IsDB president and the finances minsters of the various countries that benefited signed the agreement.
