ANGOLA TO LAUNCH FIRST SATELLITE
Angola to Boost Telecommunications Service with Launch of First Satellite AngoSat-1
Mr. José Carvalho da Rocha, Angloa’s ICT Minister confirmed that Angola is set to launch into the orbit its first communications satellite (AngoSat-1) by the end of the year.
The satellite on commencement of operations will provide telecommunication services throughout the country.
The minister stated some benefits that the country will receive from the satellite which include the possibility of performing telemedicine services and many others.
AngoSat-1 which have a life span of 15 years was built by a Russian consortium and would be launched from the Baikonur launch pad in Kazakhstan.
About 45 technicians are currently been trained on the satellite’s operations.
