THE NEW BOLE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT BECOMES BIGGEST AIRPORT IN AFRICA

Addis Ababa Bole International Airport expansion has made it the biggest airport in Africa.

On 27th January, 2019, the Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed commissioned the newly enlarged Addis Ababa Bole International Airport terminal; which have now become Africa’s gateway to the World and also the biggest airport  in Africa.

Addis Ababa Bole International Airport is now triple its former size and can now accommodate 22 million passengers annually. The airport terminal also now have amenities and high-tech systems of a 21st century global airport hub.

The biggest airport in Africa is set to provide the best possible on-ground experience, which includes automated bag drop solution, e-gates, self-check-in kiosks and latest technology security machinery.

The Chinese government financed the US$345 million expansion, which started in 2015.

Ethiopia also announced that the Airline will start granting visas on arrival to people from Africa.

The chairperson of the African Union Commission Moussa Faki Mahamat, attended the inauguration ceremony.

According to Ethiopian Airlines, Addis Ababa Airport have taken over from Dubai as the largest air transport hub between Africa and the world; and the Bole Airport now biggest airport in Africa is also the most convenient global aviation hub.
