Day Zero in Cape Town has been extended to enable Government prepare for its disaster.
The natural disaster day (Day Zero) in Cape Town which is suppose to be on Tuesday because of the historical drought has been shifted. This decision is as a result of the gravity of drought and crisis management handled by the government.
The Government will strengthen and support the disaster management sector. Also, they will help carry out incident plans to ensure immediate aid.
Recovery and reconstruction plans are on, to enable them successfully handle the effects of the disaster.
The provinces of Northern Cape, Western Cape and Eastern Cape have already been declared provincial disasters.
Meanwhile, Day Zero, the day that taps will run day in Cape Town, has been extended to June 4 from May 11,2018.
The delay is because of the continued decline in agricultural usage and Capetonians reducing their water usage.
