CIMAF SET TO CONSTRUCT CEMENT PLANT IN IVORY COAST

Morocco firm set to construct a cement plant in Ivory coast that will increase its expansion in Africa.

Morocco firm Cimaf is set to construct a cement plant in Ivory coast. The plant which will also produce 300,000 tons of cement per year is to be constructed in Bouake.

It will be the lastest in a series of such project in the nation. The firm also laid the foundation for the first plant in Côte d’Ivoire an annual capacity of 500,000 tons.

The firm is also targeting Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Angola. It has also open a construction site in Guinea-Bissau for the construction of the 11th factory on the continent.

Cimaf’s expansion is very vital at this point of the season. It is important because leading giant Dangote is also trying to hit the global market in Africa.

In November 2017, Cimaf kick-off the construction of the second plant in San Pedro and in southwestern Ivory Coast. Its objective  is to produce 1 million tons per year.

The expansion comes when the price of cement in most Africa nations are high due to the market. It is also due to the competition in the cement business.
