 ENGR. CHARLES AKINYELE AKINDAYOMI FNSE

Engr. Charles Akinyele Akindayomi was born August 15, 1951 in Lagos, Nigeria. He attended Our Lady of Apostles primary School, Yaba and proceeded to St. Gregory’s Collage Obalende, Lagos from 1965-1969 for his Secondary School education. He worked briefly in Nigeria before proceeding to Kitson College of Technology in Leeds, England to study OND in Mechanical Engineering from 1972-1974. He attended University of Survey, Guildford, Survey, England from 1974-1977 graduating B.Sc. (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering.

His love for Engineering increased when a friend of his father took him to his factory where they couple, sale and repair air conditions and fridges. His father is an Accountant and tried to lure him into the accountancy profession but his mind was never there.

He returned to Nigeria in 1977 and started his professional career with Mandilas Enterprises Ltd as a pupil engtineer and worked for a few years an several interesting projects. In 1980 he joined Oscar Faber (Nigeria) which is a consulting engineering company with their head office in England. The company later transformed to Biobaku, Faber and Partners. In this period, he was fully involved and directed the mechanical engineering design and documentation of the Mobil oil Plc Head Office Development and the adjoining Mobil Resident Complex in Victoria Island, Lagos.

In 1987, Engr. Akindayomi left Biobaku Consulting Engineers to start his own company, CA Consultants Ltd and he serves as it Managing Director and CEO. The company which is the first ISO 9001:2008 certified in the building engineering industry in Nigeria, initially started operations in Mechanical Engineering consultancy services and has now emerged as a multi-disciplinary company consisting of Mechanical, Electrical and Piping (MEP) Engineers.

Engr. Akindayomi’s developments

Well known in the construction industry, Egnr. Akindayomi has contributed to the development of consulting engineering through his participation in landmark and specialty projects such as the Muson Center, Onikan, The Palms shopping Mall, Lekki, Lagos Civic Center and Civic Tower, Victory Island, Lagos. others included Corperative Head Office Buildings, Hotels, Estates, Embassies, GSM Switch BUildings for MTN, Globacom Building at Adeola Odeku Street, Victory Island; and several other projects for companies like Chevron Nigeria plc, Mobil Oil plc and MTN Communications Nigeria ltd.

Membership

He is a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), a registered Mechanical Engineer (Engr.) with the Council for Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), a chartered Engineer (CEng) with the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE), U.K, a memeber of American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-condition Engineers (ASHREA), USA, a registered Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Assiociate (LEED GA) with the United States Green Building Council (USGBC), USA. He has contributed to the development of consulting engineering through his participation in the Association for Consulting Engineering in Nigeria (ACEN).

His other interest includes;

President, Chief Executive Program No. 21 (CEP21), 2012-2017 of Pan Atlantic University, Lagos Business School; Member of the Metropolitan Club Lagos-a Club of Gentlemen, and Ikoyi Club 1938, Lagos. Engr. Akindayomi leads with the combination of hard work, clarity of impeccable character. His depth of knowledge in carrying out numerous projects through which he has created conductive environments in building and infrastructural facilities projects for the benefit of the society has earned him a position as a foremost Engineer in the Building Systems Engineering Industry.

Engr. Akindayomi is happily married to Dr. (Mrs.) Olayinka Akindayomi and blessed with Children and Grandchildren.
