CONSTRUCTION OF BEACH SOCCER STADIUM IN MALAWI UNDER PROGRESS

Beach soccer stadium construction in progress in malawi that will help increase patronage of the sport.

The construction of the stadium is in progress in Lilongwe, malawi. The beach soccer stadium will be the first to be built away from the Lakeshores where the sport is usually played. The project will be build in phases with the first phase to be finish in april.

The Central Region Beach Soccer Committee (CRBSC) leadership is happy with the level of work the contractor has done. The project will help increase patronage of the sport. The organisation is also in talks with an insurance company to consider taking over sponsorship of the CRBSC league.

CRBSC General Secretary Charles Mwenda said “It will be a complete stadium but we will build it in phases. He also said that the first phase is the actual playing field and will be complete by next month. He also said that the second phase which will start in july will be erecting stand and other structures.”

Chairman for Central Region Beach Soccer Committee Allie Mwachande said “It has always been hard for both spectators and teams to travel to lakeshore district to watch and play beach soccer games. He also said it will increase patronage as well as cutting costs for teams instead of travelling and accommodation.”

The project will help grow the sport and attract investors to the country.
