CONSTRUCTION OF EIGHT NEW BUILDING AT EGYPT SPACE CITY UNDERWAY

Construction works are underway at eight out of a total of 23 buildings at the new Egyptian space city, stated Mohamed El-Qousy, CEO of the Egyptian Space Agency.

The space city is being inaugurated on an area of ​​123 acres and is planned to include 23 buildings, including the Egyptian Space Agency building, the African Space Agency building, and the design and development building for space systems.

The city will also include a space academy, a planetarium, an advanced library of space information, a meeting room, a hotel to host foreign delegations, a satellite assembly, and a testing center, which is one of the most important facilities within the city.

Al-Qousy pointed out that the second phase includes the service buildings of the space city, including a social complex, a place for treatment, and prayer.

“Then we enter the stage of establishing the Egyptian Space Academy, building a space systems research and development center, and creating a space museum and planetarium to be a tourist attraction,” he continued.

“The state did not skimp on us in finance to complete the space city, and the city’s plan is proceeding according to what has been set,” he added, pointing out that works will start on the city’s water, telephone and electricity network within the next few days.

As for the satellite assembly and testing center, Al-Qousy said, it is planned that special shipments, consisting of tiles imported from France and doors of a certain thickness imported from Germany and England, will arrive soon, and their installation will begin in September.

Al-Qossi revealed that the first satellite to be assembled inside this center is the EgyptSat-2 satellite, explaining that this satellite is a grant from China and will start assembling at the end of this year.

On the Egyptian Space Agency’s preparation for the upcoming COP27 conference, El-Qossy said that the agency will participate in the conference by presenting the African Development Moon project, where the first phase of this project will be presented during the conference, a project that comes in partnership with 5 African countries and the role of this The moon is a measure of weather changes.
