CONSTRUCTION OF ZIMBABWE PARLIAMENT BUILDING KICK-OFF

Zimbabwe parliament building set to start soon after grant was approved.

The construction of a new parliament building will kick-off in a few months time. The project which has receive grants from chinese government will help increase the country seat in parliament. The building is part of plan to develop a new city that will form a joint venture between three councils. The city list are  Harare, Zvimba and Mazowe.

Public Works and National Housing Minister July Moyo said “The new city will be formed by Harare City Council, Zvimba and Mazowe rural district councils. He also said that We are going to pursue Government’s plan of creating a separate local authority. He also said that the new Parliament will kick off construction in two months.”

The concept of the project has already been presented to the cabinet but will also seek advice from various planners and urban designers  in the country. The advice from the professionals will also go a long way in making sure that the project is well plan.

The project will help revive the country’s economy and also create more seating space. The new Parliament building is expected to cost more than US$140 million.
