CONTRACT AWARD FOR 4.6KM-LONG WHARF FOR MOZAMBIQUE LNG TERMINAL

Total’s US $20bn liquified natural gas (LNG) project in Mozambique is set to build a 4.6km-long wharf. A joint venture between Belgian contractor Besix and Portugal’s Mota-Engil will be responsible for the engineering, procurement and construction. 

The joint venture will also build berths and mooring facilities that will accommodate LNG ships. These plans will ensure Mozambique’s dominance in the Eastern Africa region.  

According to Fabian Boucher, director of Besix’s Engineering department, “These marine facilities are high-end infrastructures that we are particularly proud to design and to build on the African continent, in Mozambique.”
