DODOMA ARENA CONSTRUCTION PLANS SET FOR KICK-OFF- TANZANIA MINISTER
Construction plans for Dodoma arena is set to kick-off according to Minister for Information, Arts, Culture and Sports Harrison Mwakyembe.
The ultra-modern sport complex is schedule to take up construction activities for 30months. These is after a series of seismic, topographical and feasibility studies has been carried-out to ensure maximum safety of the structure and the spectators.
Speaking to the media, Mwakyembe said the new arena will cost between US$80million and US$100million that will accommodate a seating capacity of between 85,000-105,000 spectators.
According to Mwakyembe, the report has been submitted to the President John Magufuli, but will still need another studies as Dodoma is prone to earthquakes.
The complex when completed will enable Tanzania host competition such as the African Nations Champions for home-based players (CHAN), finals and Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals.
