Eagle Hill reveal masterplan for US$2 billion community development project in Ethiopia

UAE leading firm, Eagle Hills is set to launch a community development project in Ethiopia. This project will help create more opportunities for residents in the community. Meanwhile, Ethiopia government will receive 27% share from the project.

The project will include malls, an apartment house of up to 4,000, three star hotel and creation centre. Meanwhile, before the development will take place, over 1600 household will be demolish.

In a bid to help the community, Eagle Hills will give 1.8 billion birr (US$65million) to resident whose house will be demolish before the project can kick-off.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed said the project will energise the economy by creating around 25000 jobs for ethiopians. He also said the project will preserve the historical and commercial value of the area.”

According to him, Current dweller will be happy as they get to enjoy and own some of the apartment units in the area. Meanwhile the construction of the project will take seven years to complete. It will also be located in Addis Ababa which is the capital of Ethiopia.

Eagle Hill chairman, Mohamed Alabbar said It will help in creating a brand new skyline and city centre. He also said that they aim to contribute to the local market by creating jobs to boost the economy.”

The project will also have a downtown luxury complex which will be known as La Gare. La Gare will span over 360,000sqm on a site that used to have one of nation’s railway station.

According to Eagle Hill, the project will be pedestrian friendly and will also feature both indoor and outdoor  food and beverages offering and will have a Grade A office. Meanwhile, this project will make them grow their band as one of the most active developer outside their nation.
