EGYPT ANNOUNCES WINNERS OF US$800M OIL AND GAS EXPLORATION TENDERS

Minister of Petroleum Announces winners of Both EGAS and EGPC oil and gas exploration tenders in Egypt.

Egypt’s Petroleum Minister has announced the result of the oil and gas exploration tenders. These oil and gas exploration tenders were for digging the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) and The Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) wells.

The total limit of private investment owned by EGAS is worth US$600m while that of EGPC is US$164m. Including grants,  the total sum of the investments amounts to $US800m.

Minister for Petroleum, Tarek-El-Molla said the winners for the EGPC oil and gas exploration tenders will drill 39 exploration wells. While, that of EGAS will dig 21 exploration wells.

EGPC GRANTS WINNERS : Below are list for winners and the areas they received concession for.

  • General Petroleum companies : Sector 2 west Amer concession area
  • Neptune Energy : Sector 4 North Beni Suef
  • Shell : Sector 9 South East of Horus
  • Merlon International LLC : Sector 5 North Beni Suef
  • Shell : Sector 7 West Fayoum
  • Shell : Sector 10 South AbuSnan; and lastly,
  • ENI : Sector 11 East of Siwa

EGAS GRANTS WINNERS : Below are list for winners and the areas they received concession for.

  • EXXONmobil won the North of Amreya
  • While Shell and Petronas both got the North of Sidi Gaber and North El Fanar
  • Meanwhile, Diya won the Northeast of Damanhur
  • With both ENI and BP getting the North West Sherbin.

The exploration of each of these areas will soon kick-off.
