EU GIVES GHANA A GRANT WORTH €175 MILLION.

 Ghana receives €175 million grant.

Ghana and the European Union (EU) has come to a conclusion as regards to the agreement to support Ghana’s plan of developing the country in 7 years time with a total of  €175 million.

The agreement signed by Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta on behalf of the West African country and the EU Ambassador to Ghana, William Hanna.

€102 million from the grant will be for Ghana’s Productive Investment in Infrastructure for Agriculture Development in the Savannah Ecological zone while €8 million will be for Public Financial Management programme and the stepping stone Economic Partnership Agreement.

€45 million to support decentralization programme in Ghana and  €20 million for resilience against Climate Change programmes to create awareness.

This support came at the right time as there is the need for development in the  agriculture, public financial management, decentralization and climate change are priority areas creating room for  job creation, service delivery enhancing financial management for the government of Ghana.
