Role Summary/Purpose:

The Field Engineer (FE) provides on-site technical direction and leadership of field operations activities at customer-owned utility, co-generation, power and industrial plants. FEs are responsible for ensuring compliance, financial, contractual and service

fulfillment through established company procedures.

FieldCore invests in the individuals hired by providing training programs to develop expertise in a specific discipline. Entry Level Field Engineers must successfully complete a program of classroom and on-the-job training in order to become qualified in

the pertinent discipline. Training is typically completed in 10 to 12 months.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide customers with technical direction and support on Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) packaged products.
  • Provide expert consultation on complex projects.
  • Manage on-site activities during installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and/or diagnostics on gas, steam and/or wind turbines, systems and equipment.
  • Work effectively with on-site teams that could consist of Field Engineers in different disciplines, Field Engineers in the same discipline on different shifts, and Craft Laborers (millwrights, instrument technicians, supervisors, etc.)
  • Review plant engineering documents. Read, understand and interpret Process Flow Diagram (PFDs) and Piping and Instrumentation Drawing (P&IDs).
  • Plan, organize, integrate, and directs resources such as craft labor, tools and materials as required to complete the work scope per contractual requirements.
  • Direct and perform repair or inspection procedures utilizing the latest electronic communication, references and documentation technologies.
  • Consult with and update customer management, technical counterparts, Field managers, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), sales, engineering, logistics, outside contractors and plant operators regarding equipment and operations regularly.
  • Provide timely and accurate internal and external reports on assigned project progress and equipment condition and recommendations.
  • Ensure proper utilization of equipment, and compliance with company EHS guidelines and procedures.
  • Ensure contractual obligations are met.
  • Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science Degree (ME, EE, IE, CE, or Environmental Engineering) from an accredited college or university and/or 4 years of experience without formal degree, in power plant maintenance, turbine generator maintenance, or power plant equipment installation/commissioning.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to and from various projects and various field assignments is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills Desired Characteristics
