AFRICA’S FINANCE MINISTERS MEET IN WASHINGTON DC

G-24 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors’ are currently Meeting in Washington DC. These leaders will be attending the World Bank/International Monetary Fund Spring Meetings. Most importantly, they will be deliberating on how to ensure economic growth benefits the many and not the few. Most African countries suffer from poor economic policies that fosters inequality, leading to inefficiency and stunted growth. These and many other challenges are the reason for the meetings, hence, we encourage you to watch the live webcast below.

 

ABOUT SPRING MEETINGS

The Spring Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group (WBG) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) bring together central bankers, ministers of finance and development, parliamentarians, private sector executives, representatives from civil society organizations and academics to discuss issues of global concern, including the world economic outlook, poverty eradication, economic development, and aid effectiveness. Also featured are seminars, regional briefings, press conferences, and many other events focused on the global economy, international development, and the world’s financial system. This year’s events will take place in Washington, D.C.,April 8-14, 2019.
