GHANA CABINET MEMBERS APPROVE €55m FOR KUMASI ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE

Ghana’s Cabinet Members approve kumasi road infrastructure development

Cabinet Member of  Ghana has approve fund for the rehabilitation of 100-kilometer road infrastructure in Kumasi roads. This funds will help rehabilitation road such as Bantama Sub metro, Kwadaso, Manhyia, Oforikrom, Suame, Subin, Asokwa, Nhyiaeso and Tafo Pankrono.

During the briefing on sunday, Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah said the facility is meant for Auxiliary Infrastructure of Kumasi Inner-city Roads. He also said that the agreement is between the Government of Ghana and the Deutsche Bank.

Contracta Construction UK and the Ministry of Roads and Highways will be in charge of handling the project. This is after a commercial agreement between the both parties was approve.

Kojo Oppong Nkrumah said ”In addition, several key activities would be undertaken under the Priority Road Infrastructure Projects. He also said these include rehabilitation and upgrading of selected roads.”

Bantama Sub metro- 13.23 km

Kwadaso- 11.60 km

Manhyia- 8.98 km

Oforikrom- 10.61 km

Suame- 12.01 km

Subin- 13.25 km

Asokwa- 11.25 km

Nhyiaeso- 10.13 km

Tafo Pankrono- 8.96 km

The Approval now meant that the project will finish within a period of twenty-four months from the commencement date. According to Nkrumah, It is our hope that the completion of these projects will reduce, improve waiting and travel times.

The project will also help Kumasi Metropolis with consequent reduction in poverty and enhanced development.
