GHANA’S LAKE VOLTA TIMBER SALVAGE CONCESSION IS THE WORLD’S LARGEST

Here’s the story of Kete Krachi Timber Recovery Ltd. Ghana’s 1st environmentally-friendly timber company that specializes in salvaging wood in Lake Volta for exports. Kete Krachi Timber Recovery is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dedeso Holdings Incorporated, a majority Ghanaian-owned company that holds the Lake Volta timber salvage concession. The concession covers 3,500km2 and contains 14 million m3 of recoverable hardwood timber that can be salvaged with zero harm to the aquatic environment and provide Ghana’s depleted forests with an opportunity to regenerate.

  • By 2022, the company intends to be Africa’s largest producer of environmentally-friendly hardwood timber and charcoal from its sawmill at Sedorm-Yiti, in Ghana’s Eastern Region
