HOW PPE SHORTAGE AND SOCIAL DISTANCE IS AFFECTING CONSTRUCTION WORKERS

As the world continue to witness the spread of the pandemic, government has advised that construction workers should stay at least 2 metres apart wherever possible to limit the risk of contracting COVID-19 from a colleague.

A survey carried out by ConstructionNews stated that almost one in five site workers who answered the survey reports instances of work going ahead in the absence of proper kit.

Some say the absence of inspectors from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) was also criticised by survey respondents.
