HOW TREE ROOT AFFECT BUILDING
It is important to understand that tree root close to a building can affect it especially when the settlement is unequal. This occur when active tree roots dry out the soil causing differential soil shrinkage.
This shrinkage affect the bearing capacity and lead to movement in the building, especially in shallow foundations.
The good news is that it can be avoided with a proper planning which will include accurate survey of their position and obtain details of the type of tree.
