MEGA HOUSING CONSTRUCTION LAUNCH IN MALI

Construction of 50000 housing unit set to kick-off in 10 different cities in mali.

Mali is set to undergo a major mega housing construction project in different cities in the country. The plan for the project is to construct 50,000 housing units in major cities in the country. The cities include Kayes, Koulikoro, Bamako, Sikasso, Segou, Timbuktu, Gao, Kidal, Menaka, and also Taoudenn.

The construction of the housing plan has received a major boost after Abu Dhabi Fund for Development(ADFD) extended a $30m loan for the project.

Malian Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr Boubou Cisse said ”Mali has been enjoying a historic relations with UAE. He also said that ADFD has been funding the initial development for decades now.”

According to WAM, between 2002 to 2015 mali housing programme has delivered 9,521 residential houses. The homes has been through the public-private partnerships, as well as some direct government funding.

Abu Dhabi Fund for Development has been enjoying  long-standing and close ties with the Government of Mali dating back to 1976. Furthermore the fund will help in financing seven vital projects in key economic sectors.

His Excellency Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of ADFD and His Excellency Dr Boubou Cisse, Malian Minister of Economy and Finance signed the agreement.
