NAIROBI-EXPRESSWAY CONSTRUCTION TO START SOON

Nairobi-Expressway to have 10 interchange with a tollgate fee at a construction cost of USD 599 million.

Kenya over the pass couple of years has made significant strive in the improvement of its infrastructure. This is aimed at supporting the growth of the nation economy. With the road network experiencing great progress but more still need to be done.

As part of its development, the Kenya Government has partner with China Road and Bridges Corporation (CRBC) to construct the Nairobi-Expressway. This was announcement via the President’s Delivery Unit (PDU) official twitter account.

The Nairobi expressway will be a dual carriageway that is designed to run-along the central reserve road. It will start from Mlolongo and heads to the James Gichuru junction. It will also connect the Nairobi-Mombasa and Nairobi to malaba section.

The expressway will have ten(10) interchanges that allows smooth exist and enter at major points along the road. Meanwhile, motorist moving on the expressway will be required to pay a toll gate fee as the road enables uninterrupted movement through the section.

According to the statement, the construction cost will be USD 599 million with CRBC funding the project. The project will be the first of its kind in Kenya.
