NAMIBIA SEEKS INVESTORS FOR $29 MILLION SOLAR POWER PLANT
Namibia is seeking developers to build a 25 megawatt solar-power facility that will help solve electricity shortages and achieve its target of renewable energy sources.
This project will source energy for its capital, Windhoek through a public-private partnership that will include construction, financing and operation of the facility. Billed at 420 million Namibian dollars ($29 million), Namibia is targeting 70% of its installed electricity capacity to come from renewable sources by 2030.
