NIGERIA GOVERNMENT TO DELIVER 3500 HOUSING UNIT IN 2018

Nigeria government set to deliver over 3500 housing unit in 2018 to reduce the huge housing deficit in the sector.

The housing unit began construction work back in 2017 will have 3,500 housing units when completed. The housing unit was disclose by the Minister of Power, Works and Housing Babatunde Raji Fashola. He said it during the recently held 3rd national Real Estate Summit in Abuja. The summit was aim at solving problem in the real estate industry.

Babatunde Raji Fashola said “The construction of over 2700 housing units started in 2017 and would be delivered soon. He also said that the government is committing to its housing for all project to reduce the huge housing deficit.”

Kenneth Nduka, President Nigeria Institute of Building (NIOB) said “The need for professionals in the processes of housing delivery at the conception, design and completion stages is very important. He said more affordable houses should be build around the nation.”

The president of NIOB has called for the domestication of the National Building Code in all the 36 states of the federation. He said the domesticated code will help tackle issue of incessant collapse of building in the country.

Director of Nigeria Real Estate Summit, Mr. Steve Ike said, the summit has been target at the financial challenges facing the real estate industry in Nigeria. He said the aim had been to resolving all the problem encounter in the nation.

The huge housing deficit has been a challenge for the sector.
