NIGERIA GOVT. TO BUILD MORE COVID-19 CENTRES
African countries need to build corona virus treatment centers as the pandemic keeps on increasing
As the corona virus keeps spreading across the continent, African countries are looking for funds and means to help carter for its citizen as the pandemic keeps on increasing.
Nigeria Government which has so far record over 373 confirmed case with 11 deaths is planning to build treatment centers at the borders according to its Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire.
Dr. Osagie while press briefing the media by the presidential task force said the concerned became important as they cannot refuse Nigerian access into their fatherland dispute the borders been shut down.
According to Dr. Osagie “Prevalence of COVID-19 in neigbouring states is a new concern. There is a plan to build treatment centres near the legal entry borders. The borders are closed, but when Nigerian citizens turn up, they are allowed in.”
“What we do is to take them to a facility where they can be isolated, screened and go through the protocol of 14-day observation before they are released. Those who are positive are taken to the isolation centres.”
Importance of new treatment building
The plan to build new treatment center is not a bad idea especially at the border. As we know residents will want to come back to their fatherland and it will be unfair if they are rejected.
This idea of building a treatment center at every border should be embraced by all African nations as it will help reduce the intake of corona virus as well as ensuring their citizen are safe.
