Job Summary

The Planner will be responsible for:

  • Preparing internal consultancy schedules and progress input data needed for internal and client reports;
  • Collaborating with contracts, design and construction management disciplines in the development of time schedules for component projects within the overall programme of works. These time schedules will include construction milestones based on contracting strategy and packaging plans;
  • Monitoring and documenting progress, anticipating trends or possible deviations in order to quantify their impact on the overall schedule;
  • Monitoring, in consultation with the Cost Engineer, the quantities of work performed and maintaining manpower forecasts, progress curves and histograms;
  • Attending coordination meetings with contractors with particular attention to coordination of contractor mobilisation, access to work areas and demobilisation dates;
  • Generating reports depicting progress, manpower and productivity comparisons;
  • Making recommendations for schedule revisions and changes of construction sequence logic;
  • Contributing schedules and progress input data to monthly progress reports;
  • Assisting the contracts and construction management disciplines in the administration of the design consultancy contracts and construction contracts.
  • Evaluating the Contractor’s Programme with specific reference to Key Dates and Sectional Completion Dates and making recommendations to management team;

Experience

  • Minimum 6 years of experience as a planner
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the employ of an engineering consulting firm
  • Have 3 years of experience working as a planner on a medium to large (USD 15 Million to USD 50 million) development project with multiple disciplines and multiple contractors on site.
  • Experience in a construction contractor is an advantage

Eligibility to work in Ghana (due to nationality) is a requirement

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or university in Engineering, Business, Logistics or Planning;
  • Qualification in accounting and finance, business and management, planning or logistics.
