PRESS RELEASE: THE MAINTENANCE OF THE CHIEF OF THE STATE
The President of the Republic, H.E.M. Alassane OUATTARA, met successively on Tuesday, 15 December 2020, at the Palais de la Presidence de la Republique, with the Chairman of the UEMOA Committee, Mr. BOUREIMA Abdallah,
Rothschild & Cie International Vice-Chairman, Mr. Jean-Claude MEYER, and the President of the Liberal International, Dr. Hakima El Haite.
Exchanges with the Chairman of the UEMOA Committee, Mr. BOUREIMA Abdallah, focused on the various UEMOA projects and preparations for the upcoming Summit of Heads of State and Government of this Organization.
The Chairman of the UEMOA Committee welcomed the leadership of President Alassane OUATTARA, Chairman-in-Office of the Conference of Heads of State and Government of the West African Economic and Monetary Union, which enabled to give the Union a new dynamics and the functioning of its organs.
He also congratulated C ôtete d ‘ Ivoire on its economic performance over the last 10 years and wished it to have further success during President Alassane OUATTARA’s new term.
Finally, the Chairman of the UEMOA Commission renewed, on behalf of all the Union Organes, his sincere congratulations to President Alassane OUATTARA on his brilliant re-election to the Supreme Court of his country.

It welcomed the will of President Alassane OUATTARA to create a Ministry responsible for National Reconciliation, and reaffirmed the readiness of his Organization to contribute to the rooting of democracy, peace and justice.

Dr. Hakima El Haité also mentioned a future North-South Summit between liberal leaders in the North and South as well as the creation of the Liberal Academy, a Liberal and Democratic Academy to train the young generation and strengthen the ability of women and political leaders to meet the challenges of this century, i.e. climate change and digital transition, but also to spread the values of respect for human rights, equal opportunities, equality between men and women and respect for the rule of law.
Finally, the President of the Liberal International has repeated the congratulations of the Liberal family to President Alassane OUATTARA on his brilliant re-election.
