RECONSTRUCTION OF INFRASTRUCTURE IN NW/SW REGION DISCUSSED IN CAMEROON
In a bid to help develop the nation’s infrastructure, a brainstorm meeting was held under the Chairmanship of the National Coordinator, Paul Tasong.
The focus of the meeting was the Presidential plan for the Reconstruction and Development of the North West and South West Regions (PPRD-NW/SW).
Speaking during the meeting, Minister Tasong said three area has been identified to help tackle this plan. These areas includes rehabilitation and development of basic infrastructure, economic revitalization and the promotion of social cohesion. While also noting that all three areas carry equal importance
Meanwhile, the plan is estimated to swallow FCFA 89 billion with government providing between 15 to 20 percent of the total sum and has already made available FCFA 8.9 billion for this year. With United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) as the Implementing Officer of the programme with security being the main key factor to facilitate the implementation process.
