THE REHABILITATION OF THE LAGOS-IBADAN EXPRESSWAY IS ALMOST COMPLETED

The two construction companies working on the  Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Nigeria  announces  the near completion of the project.

The rehabilitation of the 132km road project  cost the Nigerian government  N230 billion. The work is in sections with each construction firm working on each section. Reynolds Construction Company (RCC) is in charge Section 2 from Sagamu to Ibadan.  While Julius Berger handles Section 1 from Sagamu to Lagos.

Alhaji Lai Mohammed, The Minister of Information toured the site, said the project should be ready before the end of the year.  Quality materials and technology are  being utilized  in rehabilitating the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.  “An additional layer of 15 centimetre of top asphalt coating while the asphalt admixture was modified to prevent the road from corroding,” said Loesser Wolfgang from Julius Berger.

The two construction firms working on the project confirms that they have completed over  50% of the project.
