RENOVATION OF ROSETTA CITY HOUSING COSTING LE390M IN EGYPT

In a meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli, Beheira Governor Hesham Amna stated that LE 390 million were spent on the renovation of Rosetta City housing one of the Nile River’s estuary and lying on the Mediterranean coast.

The governor pointed out that a new fishing port is being introduced in the city at a budget of LE 600 million. He clarified that the port, whose capacity is 50 boats, is completed by 97 percent.

Amna also noted that the textile industrial city at Hosh Eissa is finished for LE 1.4 billion and that the sites belonging to the Holy Family Trail had been improved at LE 80 billion two months ago.

As for the under-progress New Rosetta City, the governor stated that 97 percent of the housing project dubbed “Bashayer El Kheir 4” is over. The neighborhood stretches on 43.4 feddans (one feddan equals 4,500 square meters) and is planned to consist of 66 flat-buildings housing a total of 4,554 units.

In front of climate change adaptation and environment-friendly projects, the governorate pumped LE 455 million into drainage and waste systems to better handle torrents, and garbage collection and recycling.

In May 2020, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi inaugurated the third phase of the “Bashayer El Khair” housing project in Alexandria, which was implemented by 75 companies.

Bashayer El Khair projects represent a quantum leap for developing slum areas in Alexandria, as more than 50,000 citizens are estimated to reside there.
