SENIOR CHIEF BLAST CONTRACTORS AFTER DELAY OF SCHOOL BUILDING IN MALAWI
Senior Chief Mlolo has lashed out at contractor for delaying to complete the construction of a school building despite receiving over 90% of the construction fee.
During a site visit by county officials to the Mcherenje Primary School, they were very disappointed with Tithandizane Building Contractors slow pace towards completing the project.
According to Senior Chief Mlolo, contractor has received K14 million of the K16.5 million of the contractual payment.
Quoting Senior Chief Mlolo, “This is not on. The contractor is very childish in handling the construction works of Mcherenje Primary School. We do not want these kinds of contractors in the district, more especially in my area. I want the works to be of high standard but also completed as soon as possible.”
She further advised the contractor to make sure that by end February 2021 the block is completed and handed over to the community for use. While stating that they will never tolerate these kinds of contractors here in the district again.
After the visit, the contractor agreed to meet the deadline as advised by the Senior Chief.
