FINALLY AGREEMENTS FOR KISUMU TO MALABA SGR SIGNED BY UGANDA
Motions to connect the Eastern part Africa through railway network are on. The Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) are on track with financial deal signed by the president of Uganda Yoweri Museveni.
After two years delay Uganda finally agreed to sign the deal for the SGR to connect East Africa via railway. Hence, the agreement came after a meeting with Kenya President Uhuru Kenyatta and some Chinese officials.
Kenya, has already begun laying tracks for a new phase of the SGR line between Nairobi and Naivasha. While it awaits on Uganda to secure joint funding for the Kisumu-Malaba stretch.
Yoweri also asked for a joint mission with Kenya to Beijing. Soliciting for China’s Export and Import bank officials to expedite the financial closure for the two countries’ multi billion-dollar projects.
