YOUTH CENTRE PROJECT RECEIVE FUNDS IN BOTSWANA

Former MP family donate funds for construction of youth centre in  Nshakashobgwe, Botswana

A family in Botswana has given the sum of P50 000 to Nshakashobgwe Village Development Committee. The fund which is from the late former Sebina\Gweta MP Mr Mudongo Maswikiti will be for a youth centre.

During the donation ceremony, Local Government and Rural Development Minister Pelonomi Venson-Moitoi praise the family for their generosity. She also said that the family has set a a good example for others to fellow.

Minister Pelonomi Venson-Moitoi said “They has set a good example for others. She also said the project would benefit not only Nshakashobgwe residents but those of surrounding villages.”

The youth centre will offer social work services and will address issues such as gender based violence. It will also help equip youth with skills to sustain themselves as well as reducing unemployment.

Late Mudongo Maswikiti’s son, Elliot Maswikiti said ”They found it necessary to take part in the development of the village. He also said that one of his father’s dreams was to construct a library for the village before his death.”
