NIGERIA AND MOROCCO AGREE DEAL FOR PIPELINE CONSTRUCTION
King of morocco and Nigeria President agree deal for Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline construction.
Nigeria and Morocco has agree a deal for a pipeline and also sign an MOU for a chemical plant construction. The deal will see Nigeria provide gas to to countries in West Africa sub-region that extend to Morocco and Europe.
Nigeria Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity Malam Garba Shehu announce the deal in abuja today. The agreement is as a result of the meeting between the president of Nigeria and the King of morocco His Majesty King Mohammed VI. It will also help strengthening economic relations in gas resource development, global investments and agricultural training and management.
The feasibility study of the agreement on the pipeline will be finalised in July 2018. It will also reduce gas flaring in Nigeria and encourage diversification of energy resources. Meanwhile it will cut down poverty through the creation of more job opportunities.
The 5,660 km long Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline (NMGP) will further encourage utilisation of gas in the sub-region for cooking, and discourage desertification.
President Buhari has assure the King of morocco of his full commitment to the actualisation of all the agreements.
