ABDI KARIYE HAIL PORT CONSTRUCTION IN SOMALIA
The construction of a port in Somalia has been hailed by Galmudug regional state president Ahmed Abdi Kariye (Qoor-Qoor).
According to Kariye, the port construction in the city of Habyo will be a game changer for his country economy.
Galmudug president said “The people of Galmudug can construct the port without other peoples help”.
Kariye further stated that his administration is was well placed to complete the required job and that they would not seek any external help.
In term of the constant terrorist attack on the nation, Kariye said the operation to disarm the clan militias to surrender their weapon is still ongoing.
In February, the African Development Bank and African Development Fund approved a framework for US$122.55 million to clear Somalia’s arrears, so the news that the nation can construct the port without external help is surely a welcome development.
